Sometimes It Pays to Edit

So I was preparing some blogpost or another to slap up here, dealing in my idiosyncratic way with my atheism.
Jesus

As I looked at it, I wrote:
as Who Am Us Anyway can attest, I sometimes post religious stuff just to be provocative.

As I was editing that, I switched to an active verb: "as Who Am Us Anyway can attest, I sometimes post religious stuff just to provoke."

But I realized that my idea was changed and lost with that edit. I don't really post to provoke; I don't like to provoke, and I shy away from it, even in matters religious (which we all know are near and dear to my essence).

It then caused me to think "well, 'fess up -- you just want to seem provocative." But that doesn't get it either. I really want to be provocative. Indeed, I want to provoke. But it's not really in me. So I provoke folks and don't like it much.

Sometimes it sucks to be as fucked up as I am fucked up. Or at least it's weird.
