The Movie Quiz is Making the Rounds

My pal the Mythical Monkey posted this poll, and suggested that I provide my own answers.  Which I will, provided that I can rattle them off as quickly as possible, and then post whatever I've ejaculated.

1. Movie you love with a passion.
2. Movie you vow to never watch.
3. Movie that literally left you speechless.
4. Movie you always recommend.
5. Actor/actress you always watch, no matter how crappy the movie.
6. Actor/actress you don't get the appeal for.
7. Actor/actress, living or dead, you'd love to meet.
8. Sexiest actor/actress you've seen. (Picture required!)
9. Dream cast.
10. Favorite actor pairing.
11. Favorite movie setting.
12. Favorite decade for movies.
13. Chick flick or action movie?
14. Hero, villain or anti-hero?
15. Black and white or color?

1. Movie you love with a passion.

Kelly's Heroes.  I know it like the back of my hand, and I enjoy every second of it.  Don't ask me why -- who knows.  I do know that I flew back to the US as a near-teenager, but not yet, and my old man and I drove into downtown Kansas City, Missouri (a dangerous proposition at that time.  No shit -- dangerous) to watch this on a big old screen.  He howled, couldn't get over the anachronism of Oddball (portrayed brilliantly by DOnald Sutherland), but proceeded to howl more.  The hillbilly music (I've Been Working on the Railroad) coming out of the speakers as the tanks attacked sent him over the top.

Seeing it with him doesn't make it a movie I love -- it does that on its own.  But it may contribute to the passion. . . .

2. Movie you vow to never watch.

None.  I have, however, walked out of many a movie.  Why, the Mythical Monkey and I have walked out on some movies that are somewhat highly regarded by your common movie fan.

3. Movie that literally left you speechless.

I hate to borrow from my friends, but Schindler's List is it.

4. Movie you always recommend.

National Lampoon's Animal House and Duck Soup are in a dead heat here. . . .

5. Actor/actress you always watch, no matter how crappy the movie.

I have two: Gene Hackman and Walter Matthau.  Or maybe I should type "Walter Matthau and Gene Hackman."

6. Actor/actress you don't get the appeal for.

Many.  But Kate Hudson leaps to mind.

7. Actor/actress, living or dead, you'd love to meet.

 Groucho Marx.

John Lennon.

Dana Delaney.

8. Sexiest actor/actress you've seen. (Picture required!)

 Maybe Cynthia Myers?

Actually, now that I ponder, it's easy:

Mary Louise Weller

9. Dream cast.

Are you kidding?  Why, Kelly's Heroes, of course.

10. Favorite actor pairing.

Walter Matthau and Robert Shaw.

(John Wayne and Dean Martin are also right up there)

11. Favorite movie setting.

Manhattan

12. Favorite decade for movies.

God help me.

'70s

13. Chick flick or action movie?

Chick flick.  In a heartbeat.

14. Hero, villain or anti-hero?

Probably anti-hero.

15. Black and white or color?

I get a bigger boner for B/W, but the question is just ridiculous.
 The world needs both.

Although all movies should be colourized.  The only caveat?  Colour movies have to be colourized too. . . .

Cut and paste, and have at it yerselves!

I'm guessing a double feature of Rio Bravo and The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 (1974) might work for you. We've walked out on a few movies, but we'd never walk out on those.

Your name came up during TCM's showing of Kelly's Heroes today. Also came up in Florida when we saw something related to Charles de Gaulle and Katie said, "De Gaulle? He ain't even in this war!"
