The GOP has been sucking helium, eating acid, and reading the Bible

No, they haven't. I bet a million taxpayer dollars they haven't.

But I (seriously) wish they had been doing all those things, each and every one of them. They and we would be better off for it.

and they’re just scary.

How come only rightwingnuts get to be scary? You never, ever, see a blogger (any blogger) saying a leftwingnut is ever "scary." Wingers might quick call somebody a socialist and all-around bad person or whatever, but they'll never say a lefty is "scary."

P.S. If Mr. Muleboy were to run for office, I would vote for him, or if that would be illegal on account of I'm not eligible to vote for him, I'd at least contribute mightily to the Muleboy PAC.

I don't think elective office is in my future

You see, I'm

adulterous, alcoholic, atheist

and we're not even meaningfully into the As. . . .

I hope that I can disagree without being disagreeable. I find many "lefty wingnuts" scary as he'll, and hope that I call 'em just that.

I find in many a dismissive earnestness that doesn't accept principled differences of policy or opinion, but ascribes evil motives to opponents - thus enabling opponents to be dismissed as scary wingnuts.

I also find a frightening ability to arrive at tortured definitions of "liberty" and "freedom.". For example, stifling speech is "freeing" people to "interact without prejudice or abuse." indeed, i find it frightening how often restricting folks from engaging in perceived "wrongheaded" behaviours is somehow "freeing" those folks and others.

I guess I think, as always, that the chickenshit or scary stuff knows no parties or views - it just manifests itself differently
