The Beautiful Pregnant Form -- for the Mythical Monkey

Many of you may not know how much the Mythical Monkey appreciates the  eauty of the female form, and the advantages of living in the Twenty-First Century, when that beauty is readily-seen by more and more people.

The first example I can recall would be Demi Moore on the cover of Vanity Fair, but I'm sure there are lots of other examples of this modern form -- the pregnant beauty adorning a classy magazine cover.

So I give you, and the Mythical Monkey, Claudia Schiffer:

As I recall my reaction to the Demi Moore photo was not that it was an empowering celebration of the pregnant female form, but was instead a narcissistic celebration of Demi Moore's ability to hire an army of nutritionists and personal trainers (and perhaps an airbrush specialist or two). If Vogue and Vanity Fair want to celebrate pregnancy, I encourage them to pick a woman off the street at random and photograph her. Or photograph Claudia Schiffer with her head in the toilet as she copes with morning sickness. But as it is, this is yet another unrealistic standard with which women can torture themselves.

But maybe that's just me.
