Who Am Us Anyway? said...

How did you get the color? It knocks me out

(1) I love to shoot by incandescent light bulb; I like a light with a colour temperature of about 3K Kelvin.

But *this* photo is a cheat. It's shot by an iPhone, using a cheap app called Hipstamatic (which purports to recreate old lenses, film stocks, and framing). So the app is doing almost all of the work, not yours truly.

AND I wasn't shooting in incandescent light; this was illuminated from the side by a common table lamp, shaded, operating a newfangled flourescent bulb.

I was shocked to learn that some flourescents no longer are in the green temperature range, but are down toward yellow and orange.

This chart shows about where I was shooting -- the ~3500 Kelvin light was what lit this sucker.

Nice discussion of colour temps on Wikipaedia.

I wish I had the time to be a photographer.

And I wish I had the time to be a musician.

Being a modern-day Casanova is too tiring, though. . . .
