When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
You know, it took me a while to understand what the good doctor meant there. I'd always thought it was like "when the going gets tough, then professionals like me hunker down and get the job done." But what he was really saying was that when times get tough, all the fringe lunatics come out of the woodwork and start running the show. More like when he compared Nixon and Clinton, and said that Nixon, for good or ill, inspired the best people to get into politics, whereas Clinton inspired the best people to get out of politics.Times being especially weird these days, the weird are turning pro in droves. But you knew all this already. Tomorrow I'll explain that the sun rises in the east ...
YOU guys already thought of that -- but I hadn't! Thanks Mr. P.
