Who Am Us should go see the Evening Rig

How's that for a short, declarative blogpost title?

I'm hoping that Who Am Us gets to be home in Minnesota in late August and early September.

I'll live vicariously through WhoAmUs

because THESE shows

Aug 28 2009 8:00P
Sauce MPLS, Minnesota
Oct 16 2009 8:00P
The Hexagon Minneapolis

are almost certainly certain [why, surely surely] to be attended by Who

Oh, yeah -- the shows are by the Evening Rig!

Thanks, & will do, Mr. Mule; much appreciated.

I'll try to remember to bring my (new to me) camera.

And pls. know that Ms. Who & I have a guest bedroom if you're ever up for an ER road trip.

I'm not very bright -- I read your gracious invitation, and reference to a road trip, and could only wonder whether I'd be arm-wrestling George Clooney and Eric Edwards for the attentions of Juliana Marguilies and Sherry Stringfellow

I gotta get out more.

I am, though, nuts about ER, having gotten even deeper into the two longplayers. Good STuff!

What kinda camera? Are you a tyro, or a grizzled veteran?

I am both, all wrapped up in one fat package. . . .

Although I’m incredibly and stupendously old and I’m not kidding, I am a complete tyro re cameras. But once I finally got one small enough to carry around in my pocket & so actually use more than once a year, I realized photography is a freaking great thing for me.

Noticing possibly cool photo opportunities as I wander about makes me live in the moment lots more than I used to. It makes me pay more attention, which makes me feel less stupid.

So of course I promptly lost my first & only personal freaking camera.

But I now have a couple-years-old hand me up from my kids, a basic Sony Cyber-Shot deal with all of 7.2 megapixels. But like my circa $85 Squier tele with the slightly bent neck, it’s still far better than I am, so I’m thrilled. It’s even got a modest movie capability.

I still have to get back in the habit of carrying a camera around with me. I’m thinking i can put it in the pocket where my smokes used to go.

This is great. I found that photography opened my eyes, and made me really consider people (rather than focus on one -- or two -- quick thing[s]. My eyes' decision to recloase pisses me off, but whatcanIdo?

I’m thinking i can put it in the pocket where my smokes used to go.

You may wanna go back to the Pall Mall's -- photography is a lot more addicting, and can get a damned sight more expensiove! ;-)

As for 7.2mp, I urge you to read the mega pixel myth and feel great about your camera. . . .

it's all in the eyes and brain anyhow . . . . ask any pinhole photographer
