Not Every Silent Movie Feels Like a Stick in the Eye

Goddamn that Mythical mister MonkeyParker!

Thanks to him, I gave a TCM primetime silent movie a few seconds of my time.

When it was over, I'd sat through all of SPeedy, starring Harold Lloyd.

Enchanted.

Of course, it was an action-filled comedy running through the streets of Manhattan. Seeing my favourite spots as they were in 1927 or 1928 rocked my world.

Plus, very nearly modern in its tone, pace, and timbre.

Damned fine

My work here is done. I'm needed elsewhere now. I'm needed wherever outlaws rule the West, wherever innocent women and children are afraid to walk the streets, wherever a man cannot live in simple dignity, wherever a people cry out for justice.

All right, you caught me. Speaking the plain truth is getting pretty damn dull around here.
