The Treasury Plan to Buy Toxic Assets

Yesetrday's announcement of the "Geithner Plan" for the movement of "toxic" assets from bank balance sheets to other spots was met with quite a bit of criticism, and quite a bit of enthusiasm.
Or, more accurately, pessimism and optimism. The links are to samples of each.

I haven't yet formed a strong opinion on the merits of the Plan; Algeria wore me out.

But I'm pleased to have a Plan out there -- the inactivity and indecision were devastating, and bleeding billions.
