How about Ramon Navarro? He starred in the silent version of "Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ" and had a very amusing turn as a police chief in the Robert Mitchum-Jane Greer comedy noir, "The Big Steal." And as far as I know, he never broke up, for artistic reasons or otherwise.Although I'll bet he could have if the script had called for it. His was an under-appreciated talent.
