Least Faves, No. 6

The Coen Brothers.


It's not that I don't admire them. And I respect them. I just don't enjoy their movies. There's a look and feel I don't like, making them least faves.

I can only name two of their movies that I like, and of those, one was hard work for me to come to love [perhaps because of the prominent role played by John Goodman, the inaugural "Least Fave" . . . .]. I like The Big Lebowski and No COuntry For Old Men.

I know that this places me outside the circle of smart people who like their smart moviemaking. Again, I'm not blind to the attributes of their work. Their work just doesn't work for me.


I quite like bits of Bad Santa, which they produced. But even that movie has a quality that I don't altogether care for
