One of my all-time favorite openings for a television show, not just the theme but also the split-screen sight gags.

Once upon a time, before I went to a baseball game with Mr. Bellotoot, I would have said you remind me of Oscar Madison, but Mr. B so clearly has you beat on the ability to manufacture a festering trash pile out of nothing that I have been forced to re-evaluate.

By the way, after the video is over, there are 14 links to other television theme songs including "One Day At A Time." I must admit, I liked the theme, especially in season one, loved Bonnie Franklin (still do), HATED the show. Just awful. But I like smart, feisty redheads and the song has been rattling around in my brain for 35 years ...

you know, if you play with Google Maps' "Street View," you can recreate the opening while singing Doo doo doo doo doo doo, doo doo doo do doo doo do. . . .

The awning's changed, though. Forty Years'll do that . . .
