cavett on mailer

a blow-by-blow acccount of the "sun don't shine" episode, by the man himself.

I particularly enjoy Cavett because, like me, he cannot seem to keep himself from offering all of the inane asides and parentheticals that occur to him -- some witty, and some not.

He's my lawnmower . . .

Cavett, interviewed the night Norman Mailer died, graciously acknowledged writing "The Naked and the Dead."

I will find his house, then laud him.

For it will settle me.
