What An Empty Weekend

Friday night I got together with a certain jazzhead to scientifically observe his reaction to a Ben's Chili Half-Smoke.

It seemed to release pleasure chemicals in his brain and gullet.

Oh, yeah -- Team Store was added, along with a coincidental loss of the Beloveds to the dreaded Phils.

A quick drive-by sighting of the site concluded that night.

Saturday saw only my lovely collegiate daughter. Well, I mailed the Team Store results off to a friend, then it was on to see my mature young one. I dropped bucks on her for some clothes [but judicious, smart bucks], and we went to the Johnson Theater for an Imax showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Oh, yeah -- we, too, drove by the new stadium. . .

Sunday saw RFK shut down. And I also saw many friends -- in fact, the tiny world o' the Mule was pretty much locked into one building on East Capitol Street. It was great to see CB, Chrispy, Anne, Lupner, misterparker, and Katie-Bar-the-Door all out on a beautiful day. Unfortunately, we were all spread out across an expansive [single] section of RFK, and conversation seemed impossible (you know if water is requested via cell phone that something's not right), so socializing was limited. But great.

Teddy's no-show was painful, and the Nats barely recovered. But they went out on a great note!

Oh, yeah -- a quick drive by the new stadium sealed the day.

But it didn't seal the night. No John Stabb benefit, but I did join the English John Holmes to watch Once Okay Twice, a band of
earnest young men and woman.

The company was excellent.

Oh, chatted with the Jestaplero; he nailed an important case, getting convictions on all counts.

So he's got that going for him, DjidisDJNJEYCE!

Thanks for hosting yet another fine baseball event, Mister Muleboy! Despite the Teddy disappointment and diminished conversation (at least we could all see each other, except for those who repeatedly refused to look, of course), think I can say a good time was had by all. And Annie even got to see our Nats win! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout. The glimpse of the beautimous new stadium with its resplendent Nationals logo was the icing on the cake.

Go Nats!
