Rex Rundgren Is Out Of Baseball. CORRECTION: NOT Out of Baseball.

Todd Rundgren's son, Rex Rundgren, has apparently NOT retired from professional baseball.

A shortstop with the Marlins' system, Rundgren has played minor-league ball, up to and including Triple-A.

After the 2006 season, he appeared to have left the game. However, a closer inquiry reveals that he continues as an active member of the Double-A Carolina Mudcats, the Marlins' Southern League affiliate [located in Zebulon, NC, just outside Raliegh-Durham].

No word on whether he wants to work . . .

Mr. Rundgren is 26 years old.

Oh -- there's also no word on whether he's really Elvis Costello's son . . .
